In complex access control systems, readers are the end devices with which users interact and which enable the actual reading of identification means, entering of numerical codes, scanning of fingerprints or receiving signals from remote keys. The use of the readers is very simple – you move the identification means close to the reader or enter a numerical code (in cases where a keypad forms a part of the reader).

Jantar readers are moisture-resistant and suitable for outdoor installation, and in special cases they also contain additional protection against vandalism. The access control system is designed in such a way that the doors cannot be opened by damaging the reader as the control unit which contains the control logic and local database of card users (access controller) is separated and installed on the safe side of the doors.
