In Codeks version 10.2601, group visibility is automatically adjusted based on the individual administrator’s location permissions.
This means an administrator can see only those groups whose permissions are limited exclusively to locations to which the administrator also has permissions.
If a group has rights on additional locations to which the administrator does not have permissions, the group is not visible to them – neither in the group list nor when managing users.
This ensures that the system prevents unauthorized access and reduces the risk of misuse or errors when assigning user permissions.
How does this work in practice?
- A super administrator with permissions for all locations can see all groups that have permissions at those locations.
- An administrator with permissions for only one location can see only those groups whose permissions are limited exclusively to that location.
- Groups with shared permissions (permissions across multiple locations) are visible only to administrators who have permissions for all of those locations.
Key rule: If a group later receives permissions for an additional location to which an administrator does not have access, that group is automatically hidden from that administrator.
A more detailed explanation is available in the program manual, in section 6.1.1.1 Group visibility based on administrator location permissions.
