Automatic selection of the oldest available Leave also in Time Attendance

With Codeks version 10.2608, the system can automatically use the oldest available leave also for leave entered manually in Time Attendance.

This simplifies administrators’ work and reduces the need to manually select the appropriate type of leave.

We previously introduced smart leave usage with the Leave Announcement add-on in the article Smart Leave Usage in Codeks. With the latest Codeks version, we have extended the automatic use of the oldest available leave to leave entered manually in Time Attendance as well.

When the setting is enabled, Codeks automatically uses the oldest available leave, regardless of which type of leave the user selected when announcing the absence or which type the administrator entered manually in Time Attendance. If several types of leave are available, there is no need to manually check which one should be used first, as the system determines this automatically.

When the setting is disabled, the system uses the actually selected type of leave when calculating leave – either the type announced by the user via the TA Leave Announcement add-on or the type entered manually by the administrator in Time Attendance.

This provides a more consistent approach to leave usage and reduces the need to manually check and select the appropriate type of leave.

The Set leave statistics based on leave counters setting is described in the main Codeks manual in section 6.8.2 Time Attendance, under Advanced.

Benefits of the New Approach

  • automatic use of the oldest available leave also for manually entered leave,
  • less manual checking and selection of the appropriate type of leave,
  • reduced possibility of errors when using leave,
  • less administrative work for administrators and HR departments.
